The CASDP Board of Directors, assisted by the Advisory Committee, represents the interests of the wide spectrum of stakeholders and gives the CASDP mission the distinctive qualities that it needs to deliver support to partnerships and the wider community. The CASDP Board shares the vision of sustainable development and is committed to increasing the capacity of partnerships to deliver sustainable development objectives. They bring strategic focus, direction, cross-cutting skills and influence.

The Board of Directors provides the following leadership, guidance and support to the CASDP Secretariat:

  • Shaping strategic vision and programme direction
  • Providing highest level policy and programme decisions
  • Navigating the partnership's external operating environment
  • Ensuring that project activities are closely aligned with the Centre’s mission and goals
  • Identifying ad hoc advisors at the international level
  • Monitoring of performance
  • Providing leadership in fundraising

Chairman: Rt. Hon. Lord Holme of Cheltenham

Lord Holme plays an active role in business, politics and public life. Former Chairman of the U.K. Broadcasting Standards Commission, his current commercial roles include the Advisory Board of NTL, and the Chairmanship of ISG, a U.S. environmental clean-up company. He is Special Advisor to the Chairman of Rio Tinto, of which he is a former Executive Director.

He is a leading supporter of sustainable development, with roles including:

  • Co-Chair of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development’s Working Party on Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Co-Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce’s Environment and Energy Commission
  • Director of Leadership for Environment and Development International (LEAD)
  • Council Member of the Overseas Development Institute, ODI
  • Former Vice-Chairman of Business Action for Sustainable Development, the global business coalition for the Johannesburg Summit

His other activities include: Chancellor of the University of Greenwich; Chairman of the Advisory Board of the British American Project; Chairman of The Hansard Society for Parliamentary Govern-ment; Trustee of the Citizenship Foundation; Chairman of the Governors of the English College in Prague

Dr. K.K. Jajodia

Dr. Jajodia is Group Chairman of the Duncan Macneill Group and Chairman of Assam Company Ltd. Dr. Jajodia is the former Chairman of the Indo-Korea, Indo-Canada and Indo-Columbia Joint Business Councils. He is an executive committee member of the International Chamber of Commerce, India and Chairman of K. K. Jajodia Foundation, which manages two schools in New Delhi (India). He is the Vice Chair of the ICC Biosociety Commission and a long term International Councillor of the Center for Strategic & International Studies in Washington DC. Dr. Jajodia is also President of the Goodwill Society of India.

Dr. David Jhirad

Dr. Jhirad is an internationally recognized leader in energy and environmental issues. He is currently a professor at the Georgetown University School of International Affairs. He served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Energy (USDOE) for International Energy Policy, Trade and Investment and as Senior Advisor for Multilateral and Bilateral Affairs. At the International Energy Agency (IEA), Dr. Jhirad served as the Vice-Chairman of the Governing Board, and as the Chairman of the Energy Policy Committee. He led Administration energy and environmental policy initiatives with Australia, Brazil, China, India, Japan, Korea, the Middle East, South Africa, the G8 and the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Energy Working Group.

As Senior Energy Advisor to the US Agency for International Development, Dr. Jhirad was the key architect of projects to promote private investment in the power sector of developing countries. He worked closely with the U.S. private sector, multilateral banks, and foreign governments to adopt policy reforms that promote open and competitive markets, enhance global energy security, encour-age clean energy and power investment, and protect the local and global environment.

Dr. Jhirad co-authored the book, Energy Strategies: Toward a Solar Future, and over 60 technical papers. He has served as an advisor to the World Bank, the UN Development Programme, the Global Environment Facility, and the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment (OTA).
